Entri come amici, vada come famiglia
Enter as friends, leave as family
That line is painted in the dining room and it is the whole brief. Riccardo and Marybeth Tarabelsi have been feeding people in downtown Sioux Falls since 2018, and Maribella was the third room they opened.
La storia
Florence, Boston, Sioux Falls
Riccardo was born in Florence and came to Boston with his family when he was five. He stayed in Massachusetts for college and went to Tufts. Marybeth grew up here in Sioux Falls, moved east to work as a nanny, and trained at the Somerville School of Nursing.
They met in Medford, got engaged at Oak Bluffs on Martha’s Vineyard in 1996, and came back to South Dakota in 1999. Riccardo learned the restaurant business from the inside, running kitchens and a country club and then selling wine and beer for a living. Marybeth nursed for years, then went into sales, and raised their three sons, Dante, Berent and Jaxon.
Maribella is the Florence part of that story. The murals on the wall are the Duomo and the Ponte Vecchio, the oven is wood-fired, and the wine comes from one country only.
Le proprietà
Five places, and most of them on this block
Every one of them carries the same wine ring on the door, because it is the same family behind the bar.
Vespa Catering
2021. Off-site catering, and the name on a Primitivo we pour by the glass.
One kitchen, one cellar
Maribella, Brix and Trio share an address at 360 S Main Ave, so an evening can start in one and finish in another.
I riconoscimenti
What we have been given
Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026. Four years running for a list that is Italian from the first page to the last.
Homebase Top Local Workplace Award, 2024, 2025 and 2026. Three years running, and that one is voted by the people who work here.
Riccardo and Marybeth were written up by Sioux Falls Business on how five rooms came out of one family.
Lavora con noi

Our own staff voted us a Top Local Workplace three years in a row. We hire across all five rooms, front of house and kitchen, and we would rather train someone who is good with people than wait for a perfect résumé.
You have to be 21 or over to serve or tend bar. Everything else is open.
A tavola
Come and see the room
Dinner from four, Tuesday to Saturday, and brunch on Saturday between noon and two.
